Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA seeks full-time Flex Houseparents—two people who live in on-campus student homes to supervise 8–13 students and support their academic, emotional, and social development.

The role begins with nine days on duty followed by three days off, with a path to a Placed Houseparent living in the same home. Benefits include housing, meals, insurance, retirement options, and paid training.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth
• Two-person married couple requirement
• Age 27 or older for both spouses
• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to certify to drive student vans
• Commitment to smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
• Pet limitations: fish and one dog allowed
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Professional integrity and role-model expectations

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship
• Manage household routines and student schedules
• Administer medications and ensure student wellness
• Drive students to activities and engage in development/recreational activities
• Lead daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel attendance
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting
