Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA, seeks married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes and support a group of 8–13 students, providing supervision, guidance, and development within a structured, family-like setting.

Responsibilities include daily supervision, activities planning, devotions, budgeting, and tracking student well-being. Two-spouse partnership with state-of-marriage requirement is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-year marriage between spouses is required.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; alcohol not allowed on duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed.
• Ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Integrity and professionalism; staff serve as role models.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and ensure student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and participate in developmental and recreational activities.
• Lead daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel attendance.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
