Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA, seeks married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, provide care, supervision, and support for about 8-13 students, fostering academic, emotional, and social development.

The role begins with a nine days on / three off cycle, then moves into a placed houseparent arrangement, living with the same group of students. Compensation includes $46,917 per person plus comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person couple must be legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children in the student home.
• No alcohol, smoke-free campus; pet limits apply.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and the ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities, and planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities with students.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
