Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents in Hershey, PA. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, provide care, guidance, supervision and support for 8–13 students, and develop a family-like, structured environment to foster academic, emotional, and social growth.

The role starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, then transitions to a Placed Houseparent role with continued student home assignment.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental and recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel with students.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
• Initial placement involves nine consecutive days on duty with three days off, then transition to a Placed Houseparent role.
