Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA seeks married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for 8-13 students, creating a structured, family-like environment.

Responsibilities include daily supervision, scheduling, activities, devotions, and budgeting. The role begins with a nine-on/three-off schedule and can transition to a Placed Houseparent living arrangement with students.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person couple role; must be legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds only.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism as role models.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and monitor student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and engage in development and recreation.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
• Work nine consecutive days on duty, then three days off; transition to Placed Houseparent.
