Job summary

Milton Hershey School is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, provide care, guidance, supervision and support for 8-13 students. Initial duties include nine days on, three off, with later transition to a placed home role.

The compensation includes salary per person of $46,917 plus full housing and meals on duty, plus comprehensive benefits and relocation/training support.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person couple role, legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses aged 27+.
• No more than three dependent children in the home.
• Campus is smoke-free and weapon-free; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one approved dog.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship for students.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental/recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
• Starting as a Flex Houseparent and transitioning to a placed houseparent.
