Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA seeks married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents living in on-campus student homes and caring for a group of approximately 8-13 students. The role emphasizes guidance, supervision, and support to foster academic, emotional, and social development.

Initial duties cover nine days on, three off, then transition to a Placed Houseparent with the same student group.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth (or similar).
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning development and recreational activities with students.
• Leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel attendance.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
