Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. The role involves caring for 8-13 students in on-campus homes, providing guidance, supervision and mentorship, planning activities, and ensuring student wellbeing.

Initially, couples work a nine-on, three-off schedule and transition toward a placed houseparent role with ongoing benefits, housing, and training. Salary is per person with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-year married couple required for the role.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one approved dog.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Comfort leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff are role models.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and engaging in development and recreation.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
