Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents in Hershey, PA. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, supervising and supporting 8–13 students to foster academic, emotional, and social growth.

The role starts with nine days on, followed by three days off, with potential transition to a placed houseparent in a single student home. Salary per person is $46,917 plus comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-year married for at least two years (two-person role).
• Spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the home.
• No smoking or weapons on campus; no alcohol while on duty.
• Pet limits: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited).
• This requires high school diploma or GED.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff as role models.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental/recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
