Job summary

Milton Hershey School seeks Full-time Flex Houseparents to live in on-campus student homes and guide 8–13 students. The two-person couple will provide care, supervision, and support, fostering a structured, family-like environment that supports academic and personal growth.

The role begins with nine days on duty followed by three days off, with transition to a Placed Houseparent role over time. Relocation assistance and paid training are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental and recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
