Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. The role involves living on campus, guiding a group of 8–13 students, supervising daily routines, and supporting students' academic, emotional, and social growth.

As a two-person role, couples will begin in multiple homes before transitioning to a placed home, with a schedule of nine days on duty followed by three off, and a total annual compensation of about $180,000 for the couple

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Couples must be legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• Valid U.S. driver\'s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship
• Managing household routines and student schedules
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
• Driving students to activities, planning and engaging in development and recreational activities
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting

Skills
