Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, is seeking Full-time Flex Houseparents. This unique role places a married couple in on-campus student homes to provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for 8–13 students.

You will help create a family-like environment that fosters academic, emotional, and social development. The position features a nine-on/three-off schedule during placement, with transitions to a Placed Houseparent role over time.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Valid U.S. driver9 s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff serve as role models.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and ensure student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and engage in developmental and recreational activities.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
