Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA, seeks Full-time Flex Houseparents. This two-person role supports a group of 8–13 students in on-campus homes, providing care, guidance, supervision, and community-building within a structured, family-like environment.

Both spouses must be married at least two years, be 27 or older, and hold a high school diploma or GED. The position includes living on campus, with a duties cycle of nine days on and three off, and opportunities for growth into a Placed

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited).
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and actively engaging in developmental and recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
• Initially supporting various student homes on a 9-on / 3-off schedule, then transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role.
