Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, is seeking Full-time Flex Houseparents—couples who are legally married for at least two years—to live in on-campus student homes and care for 8–13 students.

Responsibilities include supervision, routines, wellness, transportation, devotions, and budgeting, with a nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, and eventual progression to a Placed Houseparent role.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limits: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Comfort leading devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff are role models.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental and recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel attendance.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
