Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, seeks married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, guiding a group of 8–13 students and fostering a structured, family-like environment that supports academic, emotional, and social growth.

Working nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, couples may transition to a Placed Houseparent role, living with the same group of students. Individual applications are required for both spouses.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses must be 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children in the student home.
• Campus is smoke-free and weapon-free; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet restrictions: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license; able to be certified to drive student vans.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrates integrity and professionalism; staff are role models.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and ensure student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and engage in development and recreation.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
