Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, seeks a dedicated two-person couple to serve as houseparents in a live-in capacity. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring youth, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, and coordinating activities and devotions with students.

The role offers comprehensive benefits, relocation support, paid training, and a schedule that rotates with nine days on duty followed by three days off.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person couple role; married at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental/recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
• Flex Houseparents will follow a 9 days on/3 days off schedule initially.
• Planned transition into Placed Houseparent living with the same student group.
