Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, seeks Full-time Flex Houseparents (couples) to live in on-campus homes, mentoring 8–13 students. Duties include supervising daily life, coordinating schedules, administering medications, and planning activities.

Two-person married couples (27+) will start in a rotating nine-on/three-off schedule, then move to a placed home. Relocation training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person couples must be legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; alcohol not permitted on duty.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff model student behavior.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship for students in on-campus homes.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and monitor student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and plan developmental and recreational events.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
• Initially support multiple student homes; nine days on duty followed by three days off.
• Transition to Placed Houseparent living with the same student group.
