Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA is seeking married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents, living on-campus and caring for a group of approximately 8-13 students.

Couples follow a nine consecutive days on duty, then three days off, and may advance to a Placed Houseparent role in the same student home. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plans, relocation assistance, and paid training.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person couple living arrangement and married at least two years.
• Both spouses age 27 or older.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet restrictions: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• No more than three dependent children in the home.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and engaging in developmental/recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
