Job summary

Rein Dance Equestrian in Delano, Minnesota, seeks a full-time Barn Manager to lead a small team and oversee day-to-day operations for a private dressage facility on 160 acres. The role covers horse care, staffing, scheduling, and ongoing education of crew.

You will work hands-on with horses, including retired and performance animals, ensuring safety, top-notch care, and a collaborative, accountability-driven work environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience managing performance horses in a private barn setting.
• Fluency in terminology and conditioning of upper-level horses.
• Proven experience leading teams including hiring, training, scheduling, and accountability.
• Willingness to lead by example and muck stalls when needed.
• Experience caring for horses in cold-weather climates and year-round outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, schedule, and develop a team of 5 to 8 staff.
• Hire and manage staff, and support their ongoing education.
• Oversee daily barn operations including feeding, turnout, and stall care.
• Coordinate farrier and veterinary schedules and keep records current.
• Manage inventory and ordering for the facility.
• Oversee equipment and facility upkeep.
• Represent the facility within a small barn community.
