Job summary

Shaw University seeks a Residential Advisor for Student Leadership to enhance student life through dynamic programming and student-centered support within the residential environment. This live-in role supports planning and execution of residential procedures and operations, contributing to Student Affairs and participating in a week-long crisis response rotation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; active pursuit of a Master’s degree preferred in Student Affairs, Higher Education, or related field.
2+ years of experience in student programming, leadership development, or housing and residence life preferred.
Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Serve as a live-in staff member within the residence halls.
Provide second shift, third shift, and weekend coverage to ensure staffing.
Support leadership development programs, retreats, and governance training.
Maintain records related to leadership engagement and participation.
Respond to student behavioral, safety, and wellness concerns with a student-centered approach.
