Job summary

Perdue Farms, via Perdue Transportation Incorporated (PTI), seeks a Live Haul Driver to move live chickens from farms to the processing plant using a tractor-trailer, with emphasis on animal welfare, safe driving, and reliable on-time deliveries.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years’ experience driving tractor-trailers.
• Class A CDL license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete DOT inspection forms.
• Drive to and from farms, typically 1–4 trips per day or night, with 30 minutes to 4 hours driving without a stop.
• Carry cover during winter and assist with covering load when temperature is below 30 degrees.
• Cross scale with tractor and trailer before going to farms; refuel and scale after loading.
• Secure empty modulars and ensure full modulars are secured before returning.
