Job summary

Nelson University seeks a Production Operative to lead live events, studio productions, and campus network systems. You will mix audio for large-format consoles, route 4K video over NDI, and troubleshoot VLANs to deliver world-class broadcasts and events.

You’ll train student crews, maintain SOPs, and coordinate gear repairs while researching upgrades that reduce costs. This role is based in Waxahachie, TX and involves on-site operations.

Qualifications

• Experience with FOH and monitor mixing on large-format consoles (A&H, DigiCo, SSL).
• Video production with multi-camera, SDI/HDMI/NDI routing, live switching.
• Lighting programming and DMX/Art-Net patching.
• IT/AF-over-IP: building PCs/Macs, configuring LAN/WAN/VLANs, deploying Dante and Waves SoundGrid.

Responsibilities

• Operate as Production Operative in one of five media systems.
• Train student crews and host quarterly skills workshops.
• Maintain SOPs and signal-flow diagrams.
• Coordinate gear repairs, updating soft/firmware’s, track asset lifecycles and inventory.
• Provide on-call support for broadcasts, campus events and class room technology.
• Research and recommend tech upgrades that improve quality or reduce costs
