Job summary

The Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) is seeking a Security Specialist to patrol our campus, screen visitors, and maintain safety for staff and patrons across multiple venues. This part-time role supports event operations, responds to emergencies, operates surveillance and access control systems, and enforces campus policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year security experience preferred.
• Able to work any shift, including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to exercise good judgment under pressure.
• CPR/First Aid certification and Denver Security Guard License required.

Responsibilities

• Patrol buildings and grounds and report incidents to leadership.
• Screen visitors, operate weapons screening equipment and manage entry flow.
• Provide safety escorts and enforce policies and procedures.
• Document incidents accurately and timely.
• Assist with emergency preparedness and coordinate with responders.
• Monitor CCTV and assist with non-emergency security requests.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external entities.
