Job summary

Disney Live Entertainment in Florida seeks Costume Assistants to join our team, supporting end-to-end costume production, delivery, operation, and sustainment for Disney parks and cruise line productions, including fittings and on-show wardrobe.

This role covers sewing, airbrushing, dyeing, and other craft work, plus inventory, laundry, and occasional driving duties. The position requires flexibility for a 24/7 schedule and offers the chance to contribute to magical experiences.

Qualifications

Experience in a Costume Department or related themed entertainment role.
Ability to perform advanced craft tasks including sewing and hand finishing.
Willingness to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.
Must pass Costume Assistant assessment and have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Perform advanced craft work on specialty costumes such as embellishing, airbrushing, painting, distressing, and more
Pack costumes for shipment and fill out paperwork for tracking and inventory
Perform basic hand sewing, pressing, repair, and set up costume lines for shows
Operate special laundry care equipment (steamers, industrial steam irons, etc.)
Pick-up and delivery of show costumes for repairs, and alterations
Partner with Costumers to set up and assemble wardrobe and accessories for fitting
Compose alteration tickets, compile swatch cards, and perform general costuming inventory
Perform quick costume fixes to include hand sewing, button repairs, zippers, gluing, mending, and more
