Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking an ISP Engineer to support live data center operations in Hood River, Oregon. You will install racks, cabinets, network and server gear, and fiber/copper cabling, and you will test and validate links, with OTDR testing as needed.

The role includes an on-call rotation for after-hours support and occasional travel. You will read drawings, rack elevations and MOPs, troubleshoot hardware issues, and document all work while helping migrations and upgrades.

Qualifications

• Experience working in live data center environments.
• Strong rack, stack and structured cabling experience.
• Hands-on fiber and copper installation and testing.
• Experience with fiber inspection, cleaning and power meter testing.
• Ability to read drawings, rack elevations, and MOPs.
• Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.
• Willingness to join an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Install racks, cabinets, network/server equipment, and fiber/copper cabling.
• Test and certify fiber and copper links (including OTDR when required).
• Verify builds against drawings, rack elevations, and MOPs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve physical layer and hardware issues.
• Support migrations, upgrades, decommissions, and customer handovers.
• Participate in on-call support and document all work performed.
