GCS Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Data Center Installation & Test Engineer to support live, mission-critical data centers in Oregon. You will own the physical layer from rack and stack to testing links, validating installs before handover, and responding to issues in after-hours on-call rotation.

• Experience working inside operational data centers.
• Strong background in rack and stack and structured cabling.
• Hands-on experience installing and testing both fiber and copper.
• Comfort with light source and power meter testing.
• Solid habits around fiber inspection, cleaning, and handling.
• Ability to work from drawings, rack elevations, and MOPs.
• Methodical approach to troubleshooting.
• Clean documentation of installs, test results, and fault fixes.
• Safe, disciplined work habits around live infrastructure.
• Willingness to join an on-call rotation.

Responsabilidades

• Install racks, cabinets, containment, and cable management, then mount network, optical, and server equipment.
• Run, route, and dress fiber and copper cabling to standards.
• Install patch panels and high-density fiber panels.
• Inspect, clean, and test fiber using a light source and power meter.
• Run OTDR traces when required.
• Certify copper runs and submit clean test results.
• Check builds against drawings, rack elevations, and MOPs before handover.
• Support moves, adds, changes, migrations, and decommissions in live environments.
• Trace down failed links and fault fixes with remote engineers and vendors.
• Join the on-call rotation and onsite after-hours for urgent fixes.
