Job summary

Griffin Media seeks a Master Control Operator to manage broadcast quality for OKC and Tulsa facilities. You will operate master control, monitor audio/video quality, maintain logs, and ensure FCC compliance.

You will handle equipment such as servers, switchers, routers, and automation systems, while executing on-air schedules and coordinating with the production team for smooth transitions.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in broadcasting/related field preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of prior master control operations experience preferred.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all operational aspects of the broadcast areas, including local products, commercials, promos, and PSAs.
• Operate transmitter and transmitter control systems; follow procedures in case of failure.
• Monitor tower lights and follow EAS procedures.
• Ensure quality control of product and audio levels; review incoming feeds.
• Monitor broadcast feeds for quality and regulatory compliance.
• Operate master control equipment: servers, switchers, routers, automation systems.
• Execute on-air schedules including commercials, programs, and live events.
• Coordinate with production to ensure smooth transitions between live content.
• Maintain logs and documentation of all broadcast activities and maintenance.
• Ensure FCC regulations and company policies are followed.
• Respond to emergencies, weather alerts, or interruptions.
• Assist training of new staff in master control procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Capable of meeting physical and mental requirements including English communication, reading, hearing, travel to site, dexterity, analytical thinking, and emotional resilience.
