Job summary

Wulf Talent Hunters in Delaware seeks a Live Accounting Manager to own the general ledger for the live operations, covering growers, farms, and the animals that keep the operation running. You will build and maintain practices that keep financial reporting accurate and on time, then lead a small team doing the same work every day, balancing spreadsheets with meetings.

You will supervise the live accounting team, coordinate with auditors and corporate accounting, and drive timely month-end closes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
• 5–7 years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• CPA preferred; IFRS experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger activity for live operations, including budgeting and cost control.
• Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries as needed.
• Review balance sheet accounts to confirm they match supporting documentation.
• Make sure every operating department posts weekly data on time and in full.
• Review weekly cost estimates and grower performance reports.
• Own the month end close for live accounting and hit every deadline.
• Coordinate year end inventory inspections with external auditors.
• Partner with corporate accounting to prepare quarterly financial statements.

The Role

As Live Accounting Manager, you own the general ledger for the live side of the business, everything tied to growers, farms, and the animals that keep the operation running. You will build and maintain the practices that keep financial reporting accurate and on time, then lead a small team doing the same work every day.

This is a role for someone who is just as comfortable running a spreadsheet as they are running a meeting.

What You Will Do

• Oversee general ledger activity for live operations, including budgeting and cost control
• Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries as needed
• Review balance sheet accounts to confirm they match supporting documentation
• Make sure every operating department posts weekly data on time and in full
• Review weekly cost estimates and grower performance reports
• Own the month end close for live accounting and hit every deadline
• Analyze operating results against cost, budget, and trend data
• Build and maintain the annual live budget
• Support external auditors throughout the annual financial audit
• Partner with corporate accounting to prepare quarterly financial statements
• Coordinate year end inventory inspections with external auditors
• Handle weekly, monthly, and quarterly internal control requirements
• Reconcile and provide required tax information for grower pay
• Review new grower housing incentive programs
• Supervise the ingredient payable specialist and live accountant
• Review industry benchmarking data and respond to related questions
• Review every live accounting report before it goes out the door

What It Takes

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
• Five to seven years of progressively responsible accounting experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience
• CPA preferred
• Experience with IFRS is a strong plus
• Cost accounting background is a plus
• Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
• A sharp analytical mind and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast moving environment
• Natural leadership instincts and the communication skills to match
