Job summary

The Archdiocese of Chicago's St. John of the Cross parish in Western Springs seeks a Liturgy Director to partner with the Pastor to design and implement liturgy, prayer, and worship opportunities that welcome all.

The role leads ministers, trains volunteers, and coordinates worship spaces and sacramental celebrations, ensuring fidelity to liturgical books and Catholic teaching. Weekend/evening availability is required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated collaboration with clergy, staff, parish leaders and volunteers.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual planning for liturgical seasons and sacrament celebrations in collaboration with staff and parish committee.
• Direct parish liturgical ministers to ensure liturgies are well planned and faithful to liturgical books.
• Train volunteers to ensure liturgical norms are followed.
• Provide prayers and opportunities for prayer to parish organizations.
• Oversee the creation of worship aids that enable full participation in liturgies.
• Ensure worship space is welcoming, in collaboration with pastoral staff.
• Prepare and coordinate the Liturgy, Prayer, and Worship budget with pastoral leadership.
• Ensure ministry complies with Protecting God's Children policies.
