Job summary

Wilson Elser is seeking a Litigation Summer Law Clerk to support our fast-paced national firm in Milwaukee. The Law Clerk will assist lawyers with legal research, first drafts of pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and reports, and participate in strategy sessions.

The position requires 20 hours per week, in-person, at our Milwaukee office, offering exposure to both state and federal civil litigation and close collaboration with experienced attorneys.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; currently enrolled as a second-year law student for the 2024-2025 academic year.
• Strong interest or experience in litigation and trial practice.
• Highly organized, efficient, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong legal research, writing and oral communication skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth legal and factual research to support active cases.
• Analyze issues to provide insights for case strategies.
• Review documents for relevancy and legal issues with accuracy.
• Assist with discovery, pleadings, motions, and trial prep.
