Qualifications
College Degree and/or 5 years of applicable claims adjusting experience.
Knowledge of legal and medical terminology.
Excellent negotiation, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to pass written examinations to become a licensed claim adjuster.
Responsibilities
Handle litigation claims in accordance with established office procedures.
Determine coverage and draft reservations of rights letters.
Conduct prompt investigations by securing statements and obtaining necessary documents.
Manage litigation including strategizing with defense counsel.
Maintain an appropriate diary on all open files.
Conduct business with vendors responsibly.
Research and interpret case law and coverage forms.
Evaluate potential use of experts and/or investigators.
Prepare and present claim evaluations.
Establish proper indemnity and expense reserves.
Conduct onsite review of defense counsel as required.
Adhere to insurance regulations in the loss state.
