Sherwood Staffing Partners is seeking a Litigation Partner in Washington, DC, offering a base of $400,000 to $450,000 plus equity partnership. The position is hybrid, with a national firm environment and a sizable attorney bench.
Ideal candidates will bring a portable practice and desire to grow rather than coast; partnership is attained after year one, with all partners holding equity. Origination credits span multiple groups, and integration programs support lateral growth.
Litigation Partner | Washington, DC | $400,000 to $450,000 Base + Equity Partnership | Hybrid
A national law firm of roughly 160 attorneys, more than 50 of them partners, is looking to add a Litigation Partner in Washington. Practice area is open. Commercial litigation, white collar and internal investigations, antitrust, and regulatory disputes are all in scope.
The pitch is straightforward. This is a firm small enough that everyone knows what the other groups are handling, with the rate structure and bench to support significant matters. Billable expectation is 1,600 hours.
The firm is looking for someone arriving with a portable practice, ideally around $2 million, who wants to keep building rather than coast. Year one is a fixed base salary. At the twelve month mark you join the partnership, and every partner at this firm holds equity. There is no non-equity tier.
Origination credit is formalized and it works across groups. Partners are expected to sell each other's work, and the credit follows you when the matter lands elsewhere in the firm. Washington partners in particular tend to be sourcing work that gets executed in more than one practice, so this is not a small detail.
There is also a structured lateral partner integration program, which is the difference between a lateral who is productive in month three and one who is still figuring out who to call in month ten.
$400,000 to $450,000 base for the first year, then equity partnership. Full benefits. The partnership compensation model is discussed directly with the Managing Partner.
Feedback on candidates typically come back within a day or two, so this is not a search that sits.
