Talently in New York hybrid role seeks an experienced attorney to manage a diverse insurance defense caseload and mentor junior attorneys. You will lead cases through pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, mediation, and trial, while advising clients on strategies and progress.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in insurance defense, strong written and oral advocacy, and a proactive, independent work style to handle deadlines and complex disputes.

Qualifications

• Must have 6–10+ years of insurance defense litigation experience.
• Ability to independently manage cases and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
• Experience handling labor law, construction, premises liability, motor vehicle, property damage or general liability claims.
• Competitive mindset and passion for advocacy.

Responsabilités

• Manage a full caseload of insurance defense matters across diverse claims.
• Lead cases through all phases of litigation from pleadings to trial.
• Supervise and mentor junior litigation associates with limited admin duties.
• Appear in state and local courts throughout the NY metro area.
• Develop strategies, assess risk, and advise clients on litigation options.
• Prepare persuasive written submissions and deliver effective oral advocacy.
• Manage deadlines and caseload priorities independently while maintaining client service.

You will also play an important role in mentoring junior attorneys and supporting the continued growth of the practice.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a full caseload of insurance defense matters, including labor law and construction litigation, premises liability, motor vehicle, property damage, and general liability claims.
• Lead cases through all phases of litigation, from pleadings and discovery through depositions, motion practice, mediation, and trial.
• Supervise and mentor junior litigation associates while keeping administrative duties limited.
• Appear in state and local courts throughout the New York City metropolitan area and surrounding regions.
• Develop case strategies, assess risk, and advise clients on litigation options and progress.
• Prepare persuasive written submissions and deliver effective oral advocacy.
• Manage deadlines and caseload priorities independently while maintaining strong client service.

Must-Have Skills:

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Six to ten or more years of insurance defense litigation experience.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage cases and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
• Experience handling insurance defense matters, including labor law and construction litigation, premises liability, motor vehicle, property damage, or general liability claims.
• Competitive mindset and passion for advocacy.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience supervising or mentoring junior attorneys.
• Trial experience in state or local courts.
• Experience handling a broad range of insurance defense matters.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
