Job summary

Alexander Shunnarah Trial Attorneys is seeking a remote Texas Property Litigation Paralegal to support our growing Plaintiff Property Litigation practice.

You will work closely with attorneys to manage cases, maintain organized electronic files, and keep clients informed with proactive communications throughout litigation, from pre-suit to resolution.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of Texas civil litigation experience.
• Strong understanding of the litigation process and ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
• Experience drafting and reviewing legal documents.
• Excellent client communication skills and proactive updates to clients.
• Familiarity with pleadings, discovery, and related litigation documents.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned Texas property-casualty litigation matters from pre-suit through resolution.
• Monitor and calendar litigation deadlines, court dates, hearings, depositions, mediations, and other events.
• Maintain complete, accurate electronic case files in Filevine.
• Prepare, draft, proofread, and organize pleadings, motions, discovery, subpoenas, and correspondence.
• Assist with responses to discovery, including requests for production and interrogatories.
• Coordinate service, filing of documents, and Texas e-filing requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, insurers, contractors, public adjusters, experts and others as needed.
• Maintain proactive communication with clients with updates on status and next steps.
• Collaborate with attorneys and team to achieve favorable outcomes.

Texas Property Litigation Paralegal (REMOTE)

to join our growing Plaintiff Property Litigation practice.

What You’ll Do

As a Texas Property Litigation Paralegal, you’ll work closely with our attorneys to advocate for policyholders throughout the litigation process. You’ll play an important role in keeping cases organized, moving litigation forward, and ensuring our clients receive consistent, proactive communication and support.

Our practice represents insureds in disputes involving storm damage, fire losses, water losses, and other significant property insurance claims. You’ll work on meaningful cases while gaining hands‑on experience with Texas property litigation.

Specifically, you will:

• Manage assigned Texas property-casualty litigation matters from pre-suit through resolution, keeping cases organized, moving forward, and on schedule.
• Monitor and calendar litigation deadlines, court dates, hearings, depositions, mediations, and other critical case events.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and well‑organized electronic case files in Filevine.
• Prepare, draft, proofread, and organize pleadings, motions, discovery, subpoenas, correspondence, and other litigation documents for attorney review.
• Assist with drafting and responding to written discovery, including requests for production, interrogatories, and requests for admissions.
• Coordinate service and filing of documents and assist with Texas e‑filing requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, insurance representatives, contractors, public adjusters, experts, and other third parties as needed.
• Maintain regular, proactive communication with clients , providing meaningful updates on case status, upcoming milestones, outstanding documents, and next steps.
• Collect information and documentation from clients and consistently follow up on outstanding items.
• Take a proactive approach to case management, anticipating what a case needs next, identifying potential issues, and communicating concerns to the appropriate attorney or team member.
• Collaborate closely with attorneys and other members of the litigation team to help achieve the best possible outcome for our clients.
• Obtain world domination.

What You Need

• 1+ year of Texas civil litigation experience (Required).
• Hands‑on experience working with Texas civil litigation matters is required.
• Property & Casualty litigation experience is strongly preferred.
• Personal Injury or other relevant civil litigation experience will also be considered.
• Experience working with Texas courts, procedures, pleadings, deadlines, and litigation processes.
• Strong understanding of the litigation process and the ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines.
• A proactive mindset and the ability to anticipate what a case needs next rather than waiting to be assigned every task.
• Strong client communication skills and a commitment to keeping clients informed throughout their cases.
• Experience drafting and reviewing legal documents.
• Experience with pleadings, discovery, and other litigation‑related documents.

Our preference is for candidates located in the Greater New Orleans area who can work in our Metairie office. However, we are open to Texas‑based candidates who have the required Texas civil litigation experience and are otherwise a strong fit for the position.

Salary: $55,000–$75,000 per year
