Rainwater, Holt & Sexton, PA is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal with strong trial and litigation experience to join a dedicated legal team representing survivors of sex trafficking and sexual abuse.
This is more than a traditional litigation paralegal position. We are looking for someone who wants to use their legal experience, organizational skills, and passion for helping others to support clients who have experienced significant trauma. The right candidate will understand the importance of handling sensitive matters with compassion, discretion, professionalism, and exceptional attention to detail while helping our attorneys aggressively pursue justice and accountability on behalf of our clients.
Our clients come to us during some of the most difficult circumstances of their lives. As a member of this team, you will play an important role in helping survivors navigate the legal process while supporting attorneys through complex litigation and trial preparation.
This position is ideal for an experienced paralegal who enjoys litigation, understands the demands of preparing cases for trial, and wants their work to have a meaningful impact.
As a Litigation Paralegal, you will work closely with attorneys throughout all stages of litigation, from case development and discovery through trial and resolution. Responsibilities may include:
Litigation & Case Management: Assist attorneys with managing complex cases, deadlines, pleadings, discovery, records, correspondence, and case files.
Discovery: Draft and assist with interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission, responses, and other discovery-related documents.
Trial Preparation: Organize exhibits, evidence, witness materials, medical records, deposition materials, and other documents necessary for hearings, depositions, mediation, and trial.
Legal Documents: Assist with drafting pleadings, motions, correspondence, subpoenas, chronologies, summaries, and other litigation documents.
Case Investigation: Assist attorneys in gathering, reviewing, organizing, and analyzing evidence and records necessary to develop each case.
Client Communication: Maintain professional and compassionate communication with clients throughout the litigation process.
Attorney Support: Work closely with attorneys to prepare cases strategically and efficiently for depositions, mediation, hearings, and trial.
Sensitive Case Management: Handle highly confidential and emotionally sensitive information with professionalism, discretion, empathy, and sound judgment.
Because of the complex nature of these cases, significant litigation and trial preparation experience is important for this position.
The ideal candidate will have:
A minimum of 3years of paralegal experience in a law firm, with preference given to candidates with more extensive litigation experience
Strong litigation and trial preparation experience
Experience with personal injury, civil litigation, sexual abuse litigation, trafficking litigation, or other complex plaintiff or defense matters
Experience drafting discovery, pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents
Experience preparing attorneys and case materials for depositions, mediation, hearings, and trial
Strong investigative, research, and analytical skills
Excellent organizational and case management abilities
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with clients who may have experienced significant trauma
Sound judgment and an unwavering commitment to confidentiality
Ability to remain composed and professional when working with difficult or sensitive subject matter
Experience with litigation software and case management systems is a plus
Excellent computer and typing skills

This is a full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
