Milber Makris Plousadis & Seiden, LLP, a civil defense firm in Miami, seeks a paralegal with 3+ years' law office experience to assist attorneys in all phases of litigation. The role requires organization, multitasking, and a strong command of legal procedures; insurance defense experience and paralegal certification are a plus but not mandatory.

You will manage case files, draft documents, handle filings in state and federal courts, and coordinate with courts and opposing firms.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' paralegal experience in a law office.
• Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
• Excellent typing and grammatical accuracy.
• Strong legal terminology and drafting abilities.
• Experience with electronic filings in state and federal courts.

Responsibilities

• Review case assignments and analyze claims and pleadings for sufficiency.
• Calendar management for an assigned caseload.
• Coordinate with support services, opposing firms and courts.
• Draft pleadings, discovery, notices, affidavits, subpoenas and routine docs.
• Assist with motion prep and exhibit identification.
• Prepare witness/exhibit lists and trial binders.
• Maintain case files and electronic document management.
