Job summary

Milber Makris Plousadis & Seiden, LLP, a civil litigation defense firm, seeks a paralegal with prior law office experience to assist attorneys in all phases of litigation in Purchase, NY. The role requires four days in office and one day remote after a six-week in-office training period.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years paralegal experience, strong MS Word/Outlook/Excel skills, and good legal terminology knowledge. Insurance defense experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' paralegal experience required.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
• Typing highly accurate with strong grammar.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
• Proficient in drafting legal documents.
• Experience with electronic filings in State and Federal Courts.

Responsibilities

• Review case assignments and examine documents for consistency and deadlines.
• Calendar management for assigned caseload.
• Coordinate with support services, opposing firms and courts.
• Draft pleadings, discovery demands/responses, notices and subpoenas.
• Assist with motion preparation and exhibit identification.
• Organize case files and manage electronic document systems.
