Job summary

North Carolina Bar seeks a paralegal to support civil and bankruptcy litigation with meticulous attention to detail and a proactive work style. The ideal candidate has 1+ year of paralegal experience, excellent organizational and communication skills, and comfort with technology.

You will assist with court filings (state and federal), manage dockets and deadlines, prepare for hearings, draft pleadings and discovery, and maintain electronic and physical files.

Qualifications

• 1+ year paralegal experience preferred in civil or bankruptcy litigation.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and legal time/billing systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with court filings including electronic filings in State Court and Federal Court.
• Manage case dockets, calendars, and deadlines for multiple litigation matters.
• Coordinate and assist with preparation for hearings and court filings.
• Assist attorneys with drafting and preparing pleadings and discovery documents.
• Assist with preparation of exhibits for trials.
• Monitor dockets and electronic court notices (e.g., PACER, ECF).
• Draft correspondence and assist with client communications.
• Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files throughout the lifecycle of a matter.
• Hearing preparation, including electronic presentations, and management of hearing exhibits.
• Track and record time using legal billing software in accordance with client and firm requirements.
