We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our legal team in Charlotte, North Carolina. The ideal candidate will have approximately 5 years of litigation experience, with a strong background in probate matters, legal research, and legal writing. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent organizational abilities and strong communication skills who can effectively support attorneys through all phases of litigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation, including case preparation, discovery, trial preparation, and post-trial tasks.
- Draft, review, and organize legal documents including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery requests, and correspondence.
- Conduct legal research using online research tools and prepare written summaries and memoranda.
- Assist with probate-related litigation matters, including reviewing estate documents, preparing probate filings, and managing related case documentation.
- Manage and maintain case files, calendars, and litigation deadlines.
- Coordinate document production and manage discovery responses.
- Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and third parties as necessary.
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness files, and trial binders.
- Schedule hearings, depositions, and meetings.
- Ensure all filings comply with court rules and deadlines.
Qualifications
- Approximately 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal.
- Probate experience is required.
- Strong legal research and legal writing skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency with legal research platforms and standard legal software.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Paralegal certificate or relevant legal education preferred.
