LHH is seeking two Litigation Paralegal Positions – Construction & Professional Liability to sit in our client's office in Wilmington, NC. Salary: $50,000–$58,000 (based on experience)
A well-established law office in Wilmington, NC is seeking two experienced Litigation Paralegals to support its growing legal team—one focused on Construction Litigation and the other on Professional Liability. While direct experience in these specific practice areas is not required, candidates must have a strong background in North Carolina defense litigation and a history of long-term employment in prior roles.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
- Paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited program
- 10+ years of experience as a paralegal
- Typing speed of 50+ wpm
- Familiarity with legal software for document management, billing, docketing, and e-discovery
- Knowledge of NC and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and Evidence
Primary Responsibilities
- Open new case files and prepare conflict worksheets
- Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery
- Prepare settlement agreements and releases
- Communicate with clients, counsel, experts, and court personnel
- Coordinate with vendors for exhibits and imaging
- Prepare chronologies and trial materials
- Review and analyze documents for privilege and relevance
- Cite-check briefs and organize case files
- Schedule and summarize depositions and discovery responses
- Perform legal and social media research
