Hennessy & Roach, P.C. is a Chicago-based law firm defending employers in Workers’ Compensation and defendants in General Liability. A full-time Paralegal in Chicago, IL will support attorneys with hearings, discovery, and case management in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a Paralegal certificate (NALA or AACP preferred), 1–2+ years’ experience, and proficiency in Word; Excel, PowerPoint, and Perfect Law are a plus. Strong organization, detail orientation, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate required; NALA or AACP preferred.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1–2+ years of Legal Assistant or Paralegal experience.
• Knowledge of legal principles and practices; state/federal laws.
• Strong research, terminology, and organizational skills.
• Word processing required; Excel/PowerPoint and Perfect Law helpful.

Responsabilités

• Assist attorneys in hearings and trial preparation; draft legal documents.
• Investigate and fact-find for cases; identify relevant legal authorities.
• Maintain and organize case files; manage calendars and deadlines.
• Coordinate depositions, discovery, and medical records requests.
• Prepare pleadings and court filings; assist with hearings.
• Transcribe dictation; manage correspondence and travel arrangements.
