Amentum is seeking a Paralegal/Legal Assistant I in Newport News, VA. The role works under supervision to gather facts, organize production documents, and summarize case information. You will perform legal research, cite-check motions, and assist in hearings as needed.

The position is an hourly, SCA‑eligible role with benefits. Requires a paralegal certificate or current ABA‑accredited law school enrollment, with experience in litigation support and ESI tools.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate or ABA‑accredited law school attendance with at least one year of study.
• One year of legal training or two years of college may substitute for the certificate.
• At least one year of litigation paralegal or project experience required; trial experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Consult prescribed sources for facts related to program matters.
• Organize and receive production documents.
• Review documents to extract data and information.
• Summarize case precedent and decisions in prescribed formats.
• Search and extract legal references in libraries and databases.
• Attend hearings or court appearances and assist with presenting charts and information.
