Job summary

Amentum in Los Angeles is seeking a paralegal to support Assistant United States Attorneys by preparing and processing a variety of legal documents and assisting in trial preparation. You will assemble and organize discovery materials, maintain case calendars, and coordinate travel for court appearances.

The role requires a paralegal certificate or enrollment in an ABA-accredited law school, plus litigation experience and strong research skills using LEXIS/Westlaw.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate or current enrolment in ABA-accredited law school with at least one year of study.
• At least one year of litigation paralegal experience or related project experience; trial experience is helpful.
• Proficiency with legal citations and basic legal research using LEXIS/Westlaw.
• Strong written and oral communication; comfortable with various computer apps and document management tools.
• Familiarity with ESI tools and eDiscovery procedures; able to deliver high-quality work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Aids multiple Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSA).
• Examining, preparing and processing a variety of technical legal documents (complaints, motions, orders, answers, pleadings, subpoenas).
• Assists attorneys in trial preparation; assembles trial documents and discovery materials.
• Organizes files/records for disposition or transfer to records depository.
• Maintains calendar of assigned active cases and tracks filing/hearing/trial dates.
• Schedules conferences/interviews and arranges travel logistics
• Produces a range of written documents using office software suites.
