Job summary

Morgan & Morgan, P.A. is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Paralegal for its Employment Law department in Washington, DC. This in-office role requires coordinating with attorneys, preparing pleadings, and managing discovery and filing tasks across federal and state courts.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in legal services, a paralegal program, and strong organizational skills to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in legal services under an attorney or law firm.
  • Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program (preferred).
  • General litigation experience, preferably in federal court.
  • Knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, and court procedures.
  • Strong organization with ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, and memoranda.
  • Organize exhibits, documents, and briefs; interface with agencies like EEOC.
  • File court documents in federal and state courts (E-filing).
  • Prepare discovery documents, interrogatories, and responses.
  • Draft and serve summons; prepare deposition binders and exhibits.
  • Draft appellate documents and filings; communicate with clients about case status.
  • Gather information from multiple sources; liaison with co-counsel and courts.

Summary

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Paralegal to join our Employment Law department.

This role is in-office 5 days per week with no flexibility to be hybrid or remote.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, legal memoranda
  • Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
  • Interface with Administrative Agencies, including EEOC
  • E-file court documents in federal and state court
  • Prepare discovery documents, interrogatories, and responses
  • Draft and serve summons
  • Prepare deposition and hearing binders and exhibits
  • Drafting pleadings, motions and appellate documents and filing them with the court
  • Interfacing with clients to keep them apprised of the status of their case and to obtain documents needed for discovery
  • Gather relevant information from a variety of sources
  • Liaise between the attorneys and internal/external third parties, including co-counsel, counsel for defendants, and the courts
Requirements
  • Associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience (preferred)
  • At least 2+ years of working experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting
  • Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program (preferred)
  • General Litigation Experience, preferably in federal court
  • Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and procedures, practices
  • Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Hourly Range

$28.85 - $43.27 USD
