Vernis & Bowling’s downtown St. Petersburg office is seeking experienced paralegals to join their civil litigation defense team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of litigation defense experience and will be responsible for summarizing records, researching legal sources, drafting documents, and assisting in trial preparations.

This role involves scheduling important meetings and serving as a liaison among various parties within the legal process, ensuring smooth communication and organization to support ongoing cases.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of litigation defense experience required.

Responsibilities

• Summarizes records and court files.
• Schedules couriers, court reporters, expert witnesses & other special functions.
• Researches sources such as statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, constitutions, and public records.
• Drafts, prepares, and performs limited reviews of legal documents.
• Assists in trial preparation and discovery practices.
• Serves as a liaison between counsel, clients, experts, and others.
• Maintains attorney’s calendar.
