Job summary

Dinsmore & Shohl LLP is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys in our Litigation practice group. While the location preference is Pittsburgh, PA, we will consider qualified applicants at other office locations.

Responsibilities include reviewing medical records, preparing depositions, drafting discovery, and assisting in motions. Candidates should have 5+ years in business litigation and an ABA-approved paralegal certificate or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in business litigation.
• College degree, ABA-approved paralegal certificate, or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of discovery and familiarity with court dockets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; highly organized.
• Technical and database skills; pre-trial and trial experience.

Responsibilities

• Review and summarize medical records and deposition transcripts.
• Prepare notices of depositions and deposition exhibits.
• Communicate with experts and clients.
• Create and maintain case chronologies.
• Draft discovery requests and responses; assist in motions and exhibits.
• Review and organize document productions; apply redactions.
• Organize and maintain internal case lists with deadlines for client, opposing counsel, and court.
• Assist in research of case law and draft client update reports.
• Collaborate with Project Assistant, Clerks and staff to fulfill production needs.
• Multitask and manage a large caseload; work overtime as needed.
