Role Summary
We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys across a range of civil litigation matters. In this role, you will assist with case management, discovery, court filings, document review, deposition coordination, and trial preparation. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple matters and deadlines in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support attorneys throughout all phases of civil litigation, from initial case assessment through discovery, motion practice, settlement, trial, and file closure.
- Organize and maintain pleadings, correspondence, discovery materials, evidence, expert files, and other case documents.
- Draft pleadings, discovery demands and responses, subpoenas, notices, affidavits, stipulations, motions, and correspondence for attorney review.
- Manage document collection, review, production, indexing, and redaction, including electronically stored information.
- Prepare case chronologies, deposition summaries, witness files, damages summaries, exhibit lists, and other litigation support materials.
- Coordinate depositions, expert reviews, inspections, court appearances, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials.
- Prepare and electronically file documents through NYSCEF, PACER, and other state and federal court filing systems, and coordinate service in accordance with applicable rules.
- Calendar and monitor court appearances, discovery deadlines, statutes of limitation, motion schedules, expert disclosure dates, and other critical case deadlines.
- Conduct factual and legal research and assist with investigations, public-record searches, and the collection of relevant evidence.
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, experts, vendors, and witnesses regarding case status, document requests, and scheduling.
- Assist with trial preparation by organizing exhibits, preparing witness and deposition materials, coordinating subpoenas, and assembling trial notebooks.
- Maintain accurate case information, billing support, and document-management records while safeguarding confidential and privileged information.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree, paralegal certificate, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- At least one year of paralegal experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, government agency, or similar legal environment.
- Familiarity with AI tools for legal research, document drafting, and other aspects of litigation support work is expected.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases, priorities, and deadlines.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, and follow-through.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with legal case-management and document-management systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with attorneys, clients, and support staff.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- This position is primarily performed in an office setting and involves extended periods of sitting, working at a computer, and communicating via phone and email, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Wage Information
$23.00- $27.00 per hour depending on experience and skillset.
