Job summary

Rupp Pfalzgraf LLC in Buffalo seeks a detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys across civil matters. You will help with case management, discovery, court filings, document review, and trial preparation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or paralegal certificate preferred.
• At least 1 year of paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate legal setting.
• Familiarity with AI tools for legal research, document drafting, and litigation support is expected.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
• Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case-management/document-management systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with attorneys and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support attorneys through all phases of civil litigation from case assessment to file closure.
• Organize pleadings, discovery materials, and case documents.
• Draft pleadings, discovery demands and responses, subpoenas, motions, and correspondence.
• Manage document collection, review, production, indexing, and redaction including ESI.
• Prepare case chronologies, deposition summaries, witness files, and exhibit lists.
• Coordinate depositions, expert reviews, inspections, and trials.
• Prepare and file documents through NYSCEF, PACER, and other filing systems; coordinate service.
• Calendar court appearances and deadlines.
• Conduct factual and legal research and assist investigations.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and witnesses.
• Assist with trial prep by organizing exhibits and deposition materials.
• Maintain accurate case information and billing records; safeguard confidential data.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
