Job summary

Frederick Fox LLC seeks an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support a plaintiff-side Medical Malpractice and Nursing Home Abuse practice.

The ideal candidate will manage complex civil litigation matters and support attorneys throughout the full lifecycle, from initial filing through discovery, depositions, mediation, and trial preparation, with hands-on experience in medical records review and drafting pleadings.

Qualifications

• Prior Medical Malpractice and/or Nursing Home Abuse litigation experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of Florida civil litigation procedures and court requirements.
• Experience handling litigation matters from filing through trial.
• Hands-on experience with discovery, depositions, pleadings, and trial preparation.

Responsibilities

• Manage plaintiff-side medical malpractice and nursing home abuse cases from filing through trial.
• Support attorneys throughout all phases of the litigation process.
• Maintain case files, litigation calendars, deadlines, and court requirements.
• Track case developments, discovery deadlines, hearings, depositions, and trial‑related deadlines.
• Ensure pleadings, correspondence, and supporting documentation are properly prepared and filed.
• Draft and prepare complaints, motions, notices, subpoenas, discovery requests, correspondence, and other litigation documents.
• Assist attorneys with legal research and preparation of pleadings and motions.
• E‑file pleadings and other court documents in accordance with applicable court procedures.
• Review documents for accuracy, completeness, formatting, and compliance with filing requirements.
• Coordinate depositions, expert witnesses, mediations, hearings, and other litigation events.
• Organize exhibits, witness lists, deposition materials, trial notebooks, and other trial documents.

Position Overview

An experienced Litigation Paralegal is sought to support a plaintiff-side Medical Malpractice and Nursing Home Abuse practice. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience managing complex civil litigation matters and supporting attorneys throughout the full litigation lifecycle, from initial filing through discovery, depositions, mediation, and trial preparation.

Medical Malpractice and/or Nursing Home Abuse litigation experience is a MUST.

Key Responsibilities

Litigation Case Management

• Manage plaintiff-side medical malpractice and nursing home abuse cases from filing through trial.


• Support attorneys throughout all phases of the litigation process.


• Maintain case files, litigation calendars, deadlines, and court requirements.


• Track case developments, discovery deadlines, hearings, depositions, and trial‑related deadlines.


• Ensure pleadings, correspondence, and supporting documentation are properly prepared and filed.

Pleadings & Legal Documents

• Draft and prepare complaints, motions, notices, subpoenas, discovery requests, correspondence, and other litigation documents.


• Assist attorneys with legal research and preparation of pleadings and motions.


• E‑file pleadings and other court documents in accordance with applicable court procedures.


• Review documents for accuracy, completeness, formatting, and compliance with filing requirements.

Discovery

• Prepare, serve, and respond to interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admissions, and other discovery.


• Organize and manage discovery materials and responses.


• Review and summarize discovery documents, medical records, deposition transcripts, and other case materials.


• Assist attorneys with expert discovery and preparation.


• Monitor outstanding discovery and coordinate responses with clients, experts, medical providers, and other parties.

Medical Records & Case Analysis

• Obtain, organize, review, and summarize extensive medical records.


• Prepare detailed medical chronologies and case timelines.


• Identify significant medical events, treatment history, diagnoses, procedures, and potential damages.


• Prepare damages summaries and other case‑analysis materials for attorney review.


• Organize supporting documentation for use during discovery, mediation, depositions, and trial.

Depositions, Experts & Mediation

• Coordinate depositions, independent medical examinations (IMEs), expert witnesses, mediations, hearings, and other litigation events.


• Communicate with experts, medical providers, opposing counsel, clients, and other parties to coordinate schedules and documentation.


• Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions and expert testimony.


• Prepare deposition materials, exhibits, and supporting documentation.


• Assist with mediation preparation and organization of case materials.

Trial Preparation

• Provide hands‑on support throughout trial preparation.


• Organize exhibits, witness lists, deposition materials, trial notebooks, and other trial documents.


• Assist attorneys with trial‑related research, document preparation, and case organization.


• Coordinate logistics and ensure necessary materials are available for hearings and trial.


• Support attorneys during all stages leading up to trial.

Client & Professional Communication

• Communicate professionally with clients, medical providers, experts, opposing counsel, court personnel, and judicial staff.


• Obtain and follow up on records, documentation, authorizations, and other case information.


• Provide timely updates and coordinate case‑related requests.


• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive medical and legal information appropriately.

Required Qualifications

• Prior Medical Malpractice and/or Nursing Home Abuse litigation experience is required.


• Strong knowledge of Florida civil litigation procedures and court requirements.


• Experience handling litigation matters from filing through trial.


• Hands‑on experience with discovery, depositions, pleadings, and trial preparation.

• Experience preparing cases for mediation and trial.


• Familiarity with Florida state court procedures and electronic filing systems.
