Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in trial prep, research, drafting documents, and organizing files.
• Coordinate discovery, draft responses, review productions, and manage documents.
• Prepare pleadings, memos, briefs, and other filings.
• Conduct legal research and help develop case strategies.
• Manage communications with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff.
• Assist with deposition prep: witness files, exhibits, outlines.
• Attend trials as needed and help with jury selection.
• Maintain case management system and deadlines compliance.

Litigation Paralegal

Job Details

Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year

Responsibilities

• 1. Assist attorneys in all aspects of trial preparation including conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and organizing and managing case files.
• 2. Coordinate and manage the discovery process, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, preparing and reviewing document productions, and organizing and managing electronic and hard copy documents.
• 3. Assist in the preparation of pleadings, legal memoranda, briefs, and other legal documents.
• 4. Conduct legal research and analysis to support case development and assist in the preparation of case strategies.
• 5. Manage and coordinate communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• 6. Assist in deposition preparation, including preparing witness files, exhibits, and deposition outlines.
• 7. Attend trials as required, assist in jury selection, and coordinate witness schedules.
• 8. Maintain and update case management system and ensure compliance with court deadlines.
• 9. Assist in the preparation and filing of court documents, including motions, briefs, and other pleadings.

Qualifications

• 1. A minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience with a strong emphasis on litigation, specifically insurance defense and civil litigation.
• 2. Bachelor's degree in law or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3. Paralegal certification is strongly preferred.
• 4. Proficiency in legal research tools, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
• 5. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• 6. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
• 7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• 8. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• 9. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify and solve problems efficiently.
• 10. High level of ethical standards and professional integrity.
